Dr. Sara Myers – Board Member
Dr. Sara Myers is a surgical oncologist and breast cancer specialist at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – The James. Throughout her career, Dr. Myers has been a tireless advocate for personalized care, with a specific focus on a group often left behind in clinical research: young adults.
Recognizing that a cancer diagnosis impacts far more than just physical health, Dr. Myers’ research explores the “whole-person” toll of the disease—from financial strain and mental health to the unique challenges of early-onset treatment. At The James, she co-leads the BRIDGE program, a dedicated initiative exploring the specific needs of young adult and early onset cancer patients.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Myers is an assistant clinical professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she mentors the next generation of surgeon-scientists. She joined the Bailey’s Clubhouse Board to further her mission of reducing life’s stressors for young patients—ensuring that practical hurdles, like childcare, never stand in the way of recovery.
