Dr. Monica A. Joseph-Griffin – Advisory Board
Monica A. Joseph-Griffin, MD, FAAP is currently a Visiting Professor in Clinical Pediatrics at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, returning to her medical school alma mater after 28 Years. Monica has strong ties to central Ohio, as she completed her pediatric residency at Columbus Children’s Hospital, now known as Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Monica has become a pioneer in the field of hospital medicine, starting at Evanston Hospital where over the years, she gained responsibility and the program grew under her leadership as Vice Chair of Inpatient Pediatrics and Quality, where she integrated 4 sites within NorthShore University HealthSystems, now Endeavor Health. Monica built a robust and talented team who provide care in delivery rooms, newborn nurseries, pediatric unit, emergency departments, and observation units. She has adjusted care models to meet the changing needs of the system, standardized care across sites using evidence-based practice, all while keeping the patient at the center.
Monica’s passion is the patient and family as a whole and she is currently active in advocacy to address the social determinants of health to help promote health equity. Dr. Joseph-Griffin also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Solidarity Bridge, working to increase access to medical care in Bolivia and Paraguay. Monica is excited to use her background in pediatrics and caring for children on the Advisory Board for Bailey’s Clubhouse, as she believes strongly caring for the children, as it takes away one important worry so that parents can get the treatment they need.
