Our Mission/Vision/Goals
Mission
To provide a supportive and joyful, educational childcare setting for the children of cancer patients; enabling ill parents who are patients to successfully attend cancer treatment appointments.
Vision and Goals
Our vision and goals are to reduce stress for parents undergoing cancer treatment by providing educational and supportive childcare during their medical appointments. Childcare access improves compliance and attendance for complex and lengthy oncology treatment plans. Ultimately, the physical and mental health status of both the children and parents/guardians will be improved through the services provided at Bailey’s Clubhouses.

Our History
After the passing of his wife to breast cancer, our founder Bret Hosket had a consistent desire to honor his family’s loss by doing something to make the cancer journey a little better for families facing a scary cancer diagnosis and treatment. He couldn’t stop thinking about a young mother struggling with her toddler in the oncology center’s break room, where he had gone to get a snack for his wife. The vision of the obviously ill woman trying to cope with both feeling poorly and simultaneously entertaining her toddler stuck with him.
After sharing the story of the mother in the break room with his childhood friends, Bret quickly gained support for providing safe, supportive, and fun childcare for families with a parent facing cancer during treatment. The academic friend took a deep dive into the topic, conducting an academic literature review where it became alarmingly apparent that childcare is a significant, yet unsupported, barrier to successful medical care for parents with cancer. The business-minded friend provided a wealth of start-up support and groundwork necessary to get a nonprofit off the ground. This group of three friends, Bailey’s Founding Board members, were then quickly further bolstered by an incredible groundswell of support within the community. Hence, the concrete concept of Bailey’s Clubhouse came to fruition and the nonprofit organization was formally incorporated as a 501c3 at the end of 2023.
